Position Overview: We are hiring a Business Development Manager to drive growth in our West Coast territory. As part of our expanding commercial team, this individual will play a key role in building client relationships, strengthening industry partnerships, and promoting Mosaic’s comprehensive protein-based drug discovery services. They will collaborate closely with the marketing and scientific teams to communicate our value proposition and showcase our unique capabilities to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drug discovery services sales and a deep understanding of the drug discovery CRO landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively identify, engage, and onboard high-potential clients in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors, generating qualified leads and securing partnerships to exceed revenue growth and sales targets.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with current and potential clients, acting as the primary alliance management contact for business-related inquiries.
Lead contract negotiations, including providing estimates and SOWs to partners, to secure profitable, long-term partnerships.
Work closely with the Commercial Operations team to support drafting of estimates and SOWs to ensure alignment between customer expectation and project pricing and scope of work as drafted by internal teams.
Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for new service offerings.
Clearly articulate the value of Mosaic’s services, including protein engineering, optimization, and drug discovery.
Work closely with internal teams, including scientific and business operational departments, to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
Work closely with the Commercial Operations team to track and manage personal sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up and progression of leads through the sales cycle.
Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance visibility and generate new business leads.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or life sciences (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
1-7 years of experience in business development within the biopharma CRO or drug discovery sector with demonstrated success in securing high-value contracts.
Proven ability to develop strategic partnerships and close deals with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively to clients.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
